Library
- All students and members of teaching and non-teaching staff shall be members
of the library.
- The library will be kept open on all working days from 8.45 a.m to 6.00 p.m.
- Books will be lent to the eligible members only against the borrower's ticket. The members can borrow one book
on each ticket. The tickets shall be returned when the books are returned. These tickets must be kept under careful custody,
as the member, who is issued the ticket shall be held responsible for any book borrowed against the ticket.
- Members shall be responsible for the borrower's ticket issued to them. Loss of library tickets should be reported immediately to the librarian (no duplicate ticket will be issued
during the validity period of the lost ticket). A period of one month shall be given to the member to trace and return the ticket. If after this period, it is still untraceable, an
undertaking in writing shall be given to the effect that the member will hold himself responsible for any unauthorised borrowing in exchange for the lost ticket. On such an undertaking
being given, a duplicate ticket shall be issued on payment of Rs.10.
- All the tickets must be returned to the librarian when a student leaves the college. A penal fee of Rs.10 shall be charged
for each missing ticket.
- Every member should return/withdraw only at the stipulated time.
- Library borrower's tickets and books shall be issued to members only on
production of their identity cards.
- Borrowers are responsible for loss or damage to the books so borrowed.The date slip(on page2 of the cover of each book) and
any other label should be tampered with. Serious action shall be taken on any violation of this rule. Every book shall be examined as soon as
it is returned, and if pages are found missing or if any book is to be marked, soiled or damaged, the borrower shall be required to be replace
the books with a new copy or pay such compensations as may be fixed by the Principal.
- Borrowers on receiving books shall examine them before they leave the library and report to the librarian if any damage, be noticed.
- Borrowers shall on no account sub-lend books to others. Library tickets are not transferable.
- A student in entitled to keep a book for on week from the date of issue. Every book borrowed from the library shall be returned on or before the due date. It may be re-issued only once
to the same person for a further period of one week under a new call slip, if the particular book is not reserved.
- Library borrowers tickets are issued to all eligible members as noted below:
- Faculty-10 tickets
- Undergraduate students-3 tickets
- Postgraduate students-5 tickets
- Students have to maintain the highest order of decorum inside the library. Members who misbehave in the library or misuse the library facilities are subject to diciplinary action.
- If books are not returned to the library on the due date, a fine of 25 paise per day per volume shall be levied. The ticket to be returned
to the borrower only on payment of fine. Absence from the college shall not be an excuse for any delay in returning the books.
- Books due on a holiday can be returned without fine on the next working day.
- Journals shall not be issued for reference outside the library.
- Reference books and bound copies of the University examination question papers shall not be lend to be taken home.
- The librarian may recall any book at any time even if the normal period of loan has not expired.
- The librarian may refuse to issue books to those who violate these rules.
- No reading materials shall be removed from its place without the knowledge of the librarian.
- Strict silence must be observed in the library.
- Members must leave their private belongings at the depository before entering the library.
- Non-adherence to any of the rules or any other malpractice by any member shall involve withdrawl facilities in
accordance with instructions of the Principal.
- Also there is a digital library with barcode scanning facilities.
